Happy New Year everyone! Been quite the start to 2018 with good surf, junky surf, storms, you name it. We’re overdue for a Surf Meeting so mark your calendars for next Friday, January19th. We’ll be at Georges again (south of the Chart House in Cardiff) from 7 AM to 9 AM. Look for the green tent. Come on down to grab a bite before work, network, learn about our next charity event, and maybe get a barrel or two.
And while you have your calendars out, make sure to circle the date of Wednesday, February 7th. We’ll be having our next mixer at another neighborhood owned/surf owned business. This time at Pandora’s Pizza in Leucadia from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Come on down and hear the story of how two local families saw that Lecuadia was missing a local pizza spot and took matters into their own hands by creating a restaurant that is beach casual, creative, slightly unpredictable, and thankfully-not the norm. We’ll be meeting upstairs in the ‘SUPERbrand’ themed room for some slices of pie, a couple cold ones, and of course a little surf talk with your community.
Thank you again for the support and we’ll see you soon!
One such business is clothing brand Vuori. Whether you surf, do yoga, or just need to get outside and take a breath of fresh air, Vuori is the next evolution in apparel.
Started by action sports legend Chris Miller and friends, the brand has set up roots in Encinitas and taken off nationally. They have been kind enough to open their doors on Wednesday, October 4th to the North County Board Meeting for our next mixer.
Come meet us at 6:15 PM in downtown Encinitas to hear their story, meet up with the group, and grab a beer.
For more info, email email@example.com with any questions. Hope to see you there!
As you know, the 4 pillars of the North County Board Meeting are:
-Expanding your network
-Supporting local businesses
-And finding an excuse to surf!
All with the purpose of helping preserve the great communities of North County San Diego. What makes our area so unique are the locally owned surf businesses. You’ve probably seen Surfhouse Adventures by now while visiting Surfy Surfy and Coffee Coffee. Owned by long time Encinitas surf brothers Nikki and Sander Harth, they decided the coastal strip needed a cool motel for visitors and locals alike. So Surfhouse Adventures was born. They are kind enough to host our next mixer on Thursday, July 20th from 6-8 PM. Come on down to hear their story, grab a drink compliments of Soto Sake, and find out why you need to book your next staycation or sales meeting here.
Thanks for the support and we’ll see you July 20th!
Save the date! It’s time again for the North County Board Meeting’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament benefit’s Urban Surf 4 Kids, a unique outreach organization that works with orphan and foster kids. Using water sports as a catalyst, Urban Surf 4 Kids teaches them how to first have fun and then give back to their communities and neighborhoods through local service projects.
Cost is just $80 to play in the tournament and includes lunch. And if you’d really like to contribute to a great cause, why not a hole sponsorship? At an inexpensive $100, it’s a great way to promote your company and give back to the community at the same time.
So come on out and join us on Friday, May 26th. Doesn’t matter if you’re a pro golfer or a hack- it’s all for a good cause- and do we really need to twist your arm to blow off a Friday and have some beers?
Thanks for your support.
North County Board Meeting
Fellow surfer Brian McBride is kind enough to host us again and we ask that you bring a new toy to the party.
Toys will be donated to the Community Resource Center to help families in need this holiday season.
Event starts at 5 PM so get there early as we filled up quick last year. Thanks again for all the support and I’ll see you there.
It’s official: The North County Board Meeting is having our 1st ever Surf Swap! On Saturday, November 19th, from 8 AM to 2 PM, come on down and sell your old surf gear and make some cash for the holidays! Cost is just $10 to swap (and free to shop) and it’s all for a good cause: Boys To Men Mentoring. We also have a few surf companies participating and the list is growing, so it’s a great time to get some holiday shopping done. And if you’re a surf brand yourself, cost is $20 to sell your goods and the money goes to charity of course. And if that’s not enough, Superbrand will take your old board (in rideable condition of course) and donate it to the kids at Boys To Men. In return, you’ll get a $50 gift certificate towards a new Superbrand board at superbranded.com! Address is 2777 Loker Ave. W #140 in Carlsbad. And if you need more info, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for supporting Boys to Men Mentoring, thanks to our sponsor Hanscom, Alexeev, McDaniel LLP, and we’ll see you there!
Happy Holidays! It’s been a great year so far for the North County Board Meeting. From our charity events benefiting TERi and the American Lung Association, to networking at our Surf Meetings, to supporting local retailers like Surfy Surfy, we’ve been busy. But the year isn’t over yet. We have 1 more special event we’d like for you to attend. Priority Public House in Leucadia has graciously invited us to hold a holiday event on Wednesday, December 9th. Starting at 5:30 pm, come on by to network, grab a bite, hear from owner Brian McBride (a fellow surfer of course), and sip a cold beverage. In addition to finishing the year off right, this special event is also a way to give back to the community. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the event and your first beer is on us. It’s a win-win. The night’s event will be benefiting the Encinitas Community Resource Center and their Holiday Basket program. Local families in need have an opportunity to get gifts this holiday season and the North County Board Meeting will be helping this endeavor. Space is limited! So get to Priority Public House by 5:30 on December 9th, bring a toy for the Community Resource Center, and get in the holiday spirit.
Thank you as always for your support and we’ll see you there.
