Month: June 2018

Save the Date! Thursday, July 20th at Surfhouse Adventures!

As you know, the 4 pillars of the North County Board Meeting are:
-Expanding your network
-Charitable causes
-Supporting local businesses
-And finding an excuse to surf!

All with the purpose of helping preserve the great communities of North County San Diego. What makes our area so unique are the locally owned surf businesses. You’ve probably seen Surfhouse Adventures by now while visiting Surfy Surfy and Coffee Coffee. Owned by long time Encinitas surf brothers Nikki and Sander Harth, they decided the coastal strip needed a cool motel for visitors and locals alike. So Surfhouse Adventures was born. They are kind enough to host our next mixer on Thursday, July 20th from 6-8 PM. Come on down to hear their story, grab a drink compliments of Soto Sake, and find out why you need to book your next staycation or sales meeting here.

Thanks for the support and we’ll see you July 20th!

Vuori Meetup – Wednesday, October 4th 6:15pm

If you haven’t noticed recently, there’s been quite the boom of new businesses along the coast in North County. Lots of restaurants, retail, office space, you name it.

One such business is clothing brand Vuori. Whether you surf, do yoga, or just need to get outside and take a breath of fresh air, Vuori is the next evolution in apparel.

Started by action sports legend Chris Miller and friends, the brand has set up roots in Encinitas and taken off nationally. They have been kind enough to open their doors on Wednesday, October 4th to the North County Board Meeting for our next mixer.

Come meet us at 6:15 PM in downtown Encinitas to hear their story, meet up with the group, and grab a beer.

For more info, email northcountyboardmeeting@gmail.com with any questions. Hope to see you there!

3rd Annual North County Board Meeting Golf Tournament

Save the date! It’s time again for the North County Board Meeting’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament benefit’s Urban Surf 4 Kids, a unique outreach organization that works with orphan and foster kids. Using water sports as a catalyst, Urban Surf 4 Kids teaches them how to first have fun and then give back to their communities and neighborhoods through local service projects.

Cost is just $80 to play in the tournament and includes lunch. And if you’d really like to contribute to a great cause, why not a hole sponsorship? At an inexpensive $100, it’s a great way to promote your company and give back to the community at the same time.

So come on out and join us on Friday, May 26th. Doesn’t matter if you’re a pro golfer or a hack- it’s all for a good cause- and do we really need to twist your arm to blow off a Friday and have some beers?

Thanks for your support.

NCBoard Meeting 1st ever Surf Swap!

It’s official: The North County Board Meeting is having our 1st ever Surf Swap! On Saturday, November 19th, from 8 AM to 2 PM, come on down and sell your old surf gear and make some cash for the holidays! Cost is just $10 to swap (and free to shop) and it’s all for a good cause: Boys To Men Mentoring. We also have a few surf companies participating and the list is growing, so it’s a great time to get some holiday shopping done. And if you’re a surf brand yourself, cost is $20 to sell your goods and the money goes to charity of course. And if that’s not enough, Superbrand will take your old board (in rideable condition of course) and donate it to the kids at Boys To Men. In return, you’ll get a $50 gift certificate towards a new Superbrand board at superbranded.com! Address is 2777 Loker Ave. W #140 in Carlsbad. And if you need more info, contact me at northcountysurf@cox.net.

Thanks for supporting Boys to Men Mentoring, thanks to our sponsor Hanscom, Alexeev, McDaniel LLP, and we’ll see you there!
